Bag Care
Keep form, colour, and comfort
Knit and textile bags reward thoughtful habits. Follow these guidelines to preserve silhouette, colour clarity, and strap performance through daily city use and travel.
Daily Habits
- Do not overstuff: Excess load stretches knit panels and shortens structural life. If you need more capacity daily, choose a larger silhouette.
- Mind sharp objects: Keys, umbrellas with metal tips, and hard cases can snag open knits — use a pouch when possible.
- Rotate straps: Alternate shoulder sides on long days, and adjust crossbody length so the bag rests against the hip, not mid-thigh.
- Avoid abrasive surfaces: Sitting bags on rough concrete or grit-heavy floors abrades base textiles faster.
Cleaning
- Spot clean first: Use a soft cloth with cool water and a drop of mild detergent. Blot — never scrub aggressively on graphic knits.
- Hand wash when needed: Most polyester knits tolerate gentle hand washing. Reshape while damp and air dry flat or stuffed lightly to maintain form.
- Avoid high heat: Do not tumble dry hot or iron directly. Heat can warp construction and dull colour.
- Hardware: Wipe metal adjusters dry after rain. If zip pouches stick, clean the zipper teeth gently and avoid harsh lubricants that stain fabric.
Storage
- Empty the bag and store loosely stuffed with acid-free tissue or a soft cloth to keep shape.
- Foldable styles should be stored fully dry and without heavy crease pressure for long periods.
- Keep away from direct sunlight for weeks at a time to reduce UV colour fading.
- Store separately from bags with rough leather or metal studs that can snag knit surfaces.
